Cascais

Cascais wasn't originally part of our itinerary, but it quickly became one of the highlights of our trip through Portugal. I pushed to add it to our route, and after just a few days there, we both wished we'd planned to stay longer.

The Place We Wanted More Of

What I loved most was the pace. We spent our days walking everywhere, relaxing on the beaches, exploring the coastline, and taking our time instead of rushing from one attraction to the next. It felt less like checking off sights and more like settling into everyday life by the Atlantic.

One of the highlights was walking to Boca do Inferno, where powerful waves crash into the rocky cliffs below. The dramatic coastline, combined with quiet streets, cafés, and ocean views, made Cascais feel both lively and incredibly relaxing.

We stayed in a small boutique hotel that felt more like a welcoming home than a traditional hotel, complete with a beautiful garden where breakfast was served each morning. Between the beaches, the walkable town center, and the easygoing atmosphere, Cascais became the kind of place that makes you rethink your plans. If I return to Portugal, I’ll be staying longer.
